Southport is a small southern town south of Wilmington North Carolina located at the mouth of the Cape Fear river. Many movies have been filmed here including "A Lie of the Mind" by Sam Shepard.

This was a last minute plan that occurred when Durb announced that the Curlee's had other plans. Eddie and his builder flew in from Louisville. Phil Cooley, with 5 passengers housed in a 1966 Chevrolet with a peace symbol spray-painted on the top, drove from Durham. Whenever we did anything outside of our rented beach cabin we used both the plane and the car for transport. (Phil Cooley)
